Finisar Corp. (Nasdaq:FNSR) introduced new versions of the WaveShaper Programmable Optical Processor. The WaveShaper 1000S/X and 4000S/X offer an extended wavelength range covering both the C- and the L-band of the optical communications window in a single instrument. The new WaveShaper members have been designed for system testing of reconfigurable optical networks as well as for laser pulse shaping in metrology and medical systems. In addition, Finisar introduced version 2.0 of the WaveManager Application Suite software package which supports a range of new functions including an accurate prediction of a filter shape and emulation of a comb of laser channels.
